A Different Approach
An outdoor chair cannot simply be an indoor chair moved onto a terrace. Its geometry must respond to water runoff, ventilation, exposed edges, surface renewal and changing environmental conditions.
ARQETO outdoor studies use a more compact, architectural silhouette with broader load-bearing transitions. These images express a design direction, not a claim of tested production performance.
Form, Water and Construction
Open channels, sloped surfaces and accessible junctions can reduce places where water remains trapped. Joint orientation and replaceable or serviceable elements matter as much as the visible profile.
Material Stability
Wood exchanges moisture with its environment and may change dimension across the grain. Stabilization may alter that behavior, but species, resin system, penetration and processing must be tested together before any durability claim is made.
Outdoor Objects
ARQETO 04 studies a stabilized light-wood armchair for architectural terraces. ARQETO 05 explores a lower, broader object for sheltered outdoor dining. Both remain design studies until prototypes complete structural and environmental testing.
