Designer Dining Chairs in Solid Wood

ARQETO dining chairs explore how a useful object can carry the presence of sculpture without losing the discipline of furniture. Rather than treating the frame as a collection of standard legs and rails, the form is developed as a connected load path.

The stabilized-wood concept gives grain additional optical depth and a controlled semi-gloss surface. Final performance, finish and construction specifications will be stated only after physical testing.

Sculptural Form

Curves are not applied as styling. They connect the seat, back and supports, distributing visual and structural weight through the object. Every model is intended to have its own original geometry rather than reproduce an established chair silhouette.

Proportion and Comfort

A dining chair must work at a table. Seat height, depth, back angle, edge radii and freedom of movement are tested together. Digital form gives direction; full-scale prototypes decide whether the object is ready.

Structure and Engineering

Grain direction, section thickness, joints and machining strategy constrain the form. Those constraints are productive: they turn a visual idea into a plausible solid-wood structure.
