Can Stabilized Wood Be Used for Furniture?

Potentially, but suitability cannot be inferred from appearance alone. A furniture system has to be evaluated at component and full-object scale.

Penetration and consistency

Large components may not impregnate uniformly. Process development should measure mass uptake and examine cross-sections rather than assuming resin reached the centre.

Machining and joining

Resin changes cutting behavior, dust, heat response and bonding surfaces. Joint design and adhesive compatibility need direct evaluation. Components should remain repairable where the design allows it.

Performance testing

Relevant work can include static and cyclic loading, dimensional response, surface wear, heat, UV and repeated moisture exposure. Outdoor use requires a harsher and longer test programme than indoor dining furniture.

ARQETO treats stabilized-wood furniture as a material-engineering project. Product claims will follow tested prototypes, not precede them.
